Black Alumni Book Fund
JOIN THE MOVEMENT!
ReliveTheBAR and The RTB Foundation are proud to reintroduce the annual Black Alumni Book Fund!
The Black Alumni Book Fund is back and bigger than before. This year, we’re inviting Black alumni across the nation to answer the call. For the first time ever, alumni from various institutions can join the Black Alumni Book Fund and support Black students attending their alma mater. This nationwide initiative will provide books for Black students at five universities, but we need your help to do it.
The challenges Black students endure while attending major universities is a unique experience that connects us all. Supporting their academics as they work toward graduation is just one of many ways we can “lift as we climb.” The Black Alumni Book Fund aims to help ease the burden of purchasing books for class, a stressor that can sometimes hinder academic performance.
But How Does the Book Fund Work?
Every fall, we match students with generous alumni who pledge to sponsor a book, or books, they need for class. The Black Alumni Book Fund is open to undergraduate and graduate students at University of Michigan, Michigan State University, The Ohio State University, Indiana University, University of Minnesota, and the University of Pittsburgh.
If you are a student in need of a book for class, all you need to do is provide proof of enrollment at one of the previously mentioned universities for the Fall 2022 semester.
If you are an alum of one of these universities and would like to support a student, you can sign up to become a sponsor and the RTB team will match you with a student in need. We invite anyone to make a tax-deductible donation directly to The RTB Foundation to aid even more students through the Black Alumni Book Fund.
We believe the Black alumni community can continue to help each other grow, build, and succeed at their respective institutions.
